The room

In the federal register the activity reads as a snack bar, with tea and juice poured at the same counter. Day to day that means a table to sit at, a kettle that is always hot and a choice between what goes into a cup and what goes into a glass.

The range shifts with what the suppliers deliver and with the season, so you will find no fixed list and no prices here. Anyone curious about what is being poured that week can call or write, and the answer comes from whoever is behind the counter.

What we serve is food and drink, made for taste and for a break in the day. We claim no health effect for any tea or juice, and no cup stands in for advice from a qualified professional.

Resellers

Besides the room, the company holds a registration for wholesale trade in food products. That is the side of the house that deals with corner markets, delis, coffee shops and other places buying in quantity to stock their own shelves.

It starts with a conversation: the buyer describes the kind of shop, the neighbourhood and the volume in mind, and the house replies with what it is able to supply at that moment. Price and delivery for each reseller are settled in a written message, one buyer at a time.

Before you walk in

Three small arrangements spare you a wasted trip to Avenida Frederick Hoffmann:

1. Phone ahead if you are coming for one particular blend: the leaf shelf changes from one week to the next.
2. Larger groups let us know beforehand, so tables can be pushed together and the kettle can keep up with everyone.
3. If you have an allergy or a dietary restriction, ask at the counter what each snack is made of; the staff will show you the ingredient packaging whenever there is one.

Resellers do not need to visit the room to get going: the first exchange can happen entirely by e-mail, with photos of the shop if that helps explain the order.
